Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE WAS UPDATED AND REFRESHED AS OF 7/8/02 - PLEASE READ THE LOG! This cache is similar in format to the famed Caffinated Skeeter Ridge cache in Henderson County, NC. However, this time it is in Brevard, NC (Home of White Squirrels and Waterfalls!) To find the coordinates of the final cache, print this page and take it with you the above coordinates. Once there, you will go on a scavenger hunt and answer the questions below to fill in the missing numbers for the final coordinates.

Your final destination will be :

N 35 1_._9_

W 08_ _ _._3_

1) At your starting coordinates, you will see "The Coolest Toy Store in the World!" How many 2nd story windows does this store have that are facing South Broad Street? Place this number in the second blank space of Latitude North above. Go find the owner (he will be the one with the beanie on his head!) and say "Hello!"

2) Walk south down this street and you will find a delicious European-style bakery. Look above the door to find their street address. Reverse these two numbers to fill the second and third blanks in Longitude West. If open, definitely try one of their croissants or take home a fresh-baked organic loaf of bread!

3) Just next door you will see an old-time soda fountain. In the doorway, you will spot a ceiling fan overhead. Count the number of blades on the fan and DOUBLE it to then place in the third blank in Latitude North. Awesome 50's tunes and delicious ice cream!

4) Retrace your steps back to the corner and cross the street (heading in the direction of a store that bears a similar name to this cache!!) Walk west down the sidewalk until you come to a lively old-time mountain music shop. Count the number of iron-work lamps above this store's awning. Subtract one from this number and place your answer in the first blank of Longitude West. These guys have kickin' jam sessions every Tuesday night free to the public!

5) Down a few doors from the music shop, you will find an old-school barber shop! Peer inside this fading relic from the past and count the number of barber chairs. Subtract this number from 12 to have your answer for the fourth blank in Longitude West.

6) Retrace your steps to the original coordinates. Cross the street from the toy store heading over to the bistro on the corner. Walk down this street until you find a very nice art gallery with a "colorful canine" name. Count the number of letters in the first word of this gallery's name. Subtract one from this number to fill in the fifth blank of Longitude West.

7) Last but not least, walk east a couple more doors down the street to find an awesome coffee shop. This place is a good social hangout in Brevard! How many tasty coffees are listed on the front glass window of the store? Place this number in the first blank of Latitude North to complete the informational scavenger hunt!!

These coordinates will then lead you to a forested area in a park heading out of Brevard. This is where you will find your well-deserved cache. If it is a nice day, you will find that the location is actually within walking distance from the coffee shop! The park area is frequently visited, so please conceal the cache well before you leave. Have fun!

This cache is in a large tupperware container with a white top.
