Geocache Description:

A small cache for micro coin swaps with a view, by Wynril Point. No designated disabled parking, but it might be possible to park near the raised off road parking area. No need for a buggy if used as a cache and dash, but some families do push buggies to/from Ruardean on the road. These roads are steep - best avoid driving in heavy snow. Cache can be reached from public land, so no need to climb through any fences.

You will need gloves and long sleeves in summer months to retrieve and replace this cache. Best adventure if approached from the A4136 on the Pludds Road, and through the Pludds. This will take you through roaming sheep - and you might see deer in the woods or even wild boar. This is one of our favourite places, somewhere to sit and unwind. Photos don't do the view justice, it's the kind that is usually only rewarded by a long uphill hike. It's a great area to explore, the path on the other side of the road (over stiles) takes you by horses and sheep to Pettycroft. A path to the right beside the first Pettycroft house there leads (over large stone stile) to further adventures over fields and briar or down the steep and narrow Kingsway Lane takes you into Ruardean. Then there's the north end of the Forest of Dean got to from The Pludds (check maps) or paths from/near the A4136. For those who prefer hard surfaces and refreshments, take a leisurely walk down Eddy's Lane (no pavements or verge) to the Malt Shovel pub in Ruardean (where there's also a pottery, a post office, garage and chippy and on the Morse Road, a farm shop). Night cache and dashing is possible with a torch. You won't see the view, but its likely you'll see some wildlife (just saw a fox on the road back tonight). Cache is a small tin in a plastic bag, in a camo bag. Please rehide and cover well. CONGRATULATIONS to connie159, FTF up hill through the snow, LunaMini STF dashing through the snow and buttyboat TTF. Hope there will be a few more caches around here soon.
