Geocache Description:

The Parrish Ancient Ruin cache is located high above the Spring Creek Valley near Parrish 4 miles south on Duhring Road. The site is designated as an archeological rich area and is unique because of the significant rock formations found along the ridgeline.

Drive north of Marienville Pennsylvania on SR 66 six miles and turn left on Duhring Road. There is a gated road on the right side of the road about 4 miles from SR 66. Park below the gate. There is an active horse trail that will take you up to the top of the ridgeline. From there you will see the spectacular rock formations lining the edge of the plateau. The cache is located inside the largest of these monstrous rocks. The recesses go way inside the rock but the cache is near the front. I had to take my reading from just outside the ledge so you will have to search a bit for it. It's within 10 feet of the reading. Take time to sit a spell (you may have to after climbing up the hill) and imagine the ancients seeking refuge under the ledge during stormy weather. The cache contains numerous backpacking items and maps of interest for those who love the North Country National Scenic Trail. Whoever is FTF please take the NCT pin and pass it along.
