Barnford Hill View Traditional Cache
lathama: It pains me to do this as this was one of Dads caches and i said i would adopt it when he died.
However i simply don't have the time to look after it.
Its location makes it difficult for me to access, allowing that i cant drive.
So im going to let it go.

A 35 mm film canister in a park where we played for hours when were young
Barnford Hill Park is what remains of two local farms, the last of which disappeared in the 1960's. It is in an elevated position and the highest point is a small outcrop of pudding stone which commands a wonderful view north and west over the Black Country. At one time, the summit of this hill was guarded by railings but these have now been taken down, meaning that you will have to be careful if you go to the summit with small geokiddies. The cache is NOT at the summit of the hill [there was no suitable hiding place] but instead it is at the base. However, after you have found it, please take two minutes to go and admire the vista!
The park is now locked at dusk so access at night isn't possible which is a pity because we remember the view from the summit at night with all the surrounding lights as being quite amazing. It is a very quiet place in the week but full of muggles playing football, tennis, cricket, bowls and on the children's playground at weekends. Please be careful when you access and replace the cache. The cache site is only 1 metre off the tarmac path.
There are several possible parking places and we have listed two of them. The first is the shortest distance from the cache site.
We have placed a micro-geocoin in the cache which we assume the FTF will take. Happy caching!
