Bonnie's Woodland Wonder is a geocache situated in the woods above Ramsbottom.
Bonnie, was our first dog - a cocker spaniel, and we used to walk in these woods a lot. Unfortunately she is no longer with us.
The terrain is a steep wooded slope, which can be muddy and slippy at times. Walking up from Ramsbottom , this cache could be the first on a great day on the hills above Ramsbottom.
To access the cache, I would recommend either walking up to it, or contouring across to it. A walking pole / stick would be useful to steady yourself when going up, and also when accessing the cache.
Due to the steepness of the terrain, and the potential slippiness, I would not recommend heading downhill to the cache.
When leaving the cache, It would be best to contour across to the nearby footpath.
This cache could be the first of a day taking in the delights of the West Pennine Moors, as the cache is near to footpaths that lead up onto the moors.
Please be careful if you have children with you, as the slope is steep and slippy in places.
Also there are very steep drops in places in the woods.
