I drive by this spot quite frequently and have always thought,
"Hmmm . . . too bad, there's such great potential here." Yesterday
as I was driving by, I was struck by a sudden inspiration, which
led me to think almost the complete opposite - great potential,
perfect spot! Why is that? Well, now we're talking about geocaching
here!
This hide is dedicated to another avid geocacher: my best friend
of 20+ years, Shelley. We've known each other since high school and
she's like a sister to me. AND, it was also Shelley who introduced
me to this thing called "geocaching." I was hooked from the
start!
Shelley works as a horticulture extension specialist
out-of-state and I think she'd have some rather funny and choice
words for this location. It looks like it's supposed to be a
neighborhood community garden, which I think is a great idea and
have seen a good number of them in the City of Chicago and suburbs
that were quite lovely. However, "lovely," is not really how I
would describe it here.
As old friends will do, we'll joke around and tease each other.
So, knowing how much she loves plants, gardening, and the like,
it's also a bit of gag for me to hide her cache here. Still, I
think she'll get a real kick out of this. Oh, and she'll probably
laugh and laugh about the prize for FTF.
That's right, there is a prize for FTF. A koozie awaits.
** Congrats to mgbmusic and Panther in the Den for FTF **
