Geocache Description:

Totara Grove
This cache brings you to the grove of Totara trees (Podocarpus Totara) that were planted in memorium to the late Norman Kirk, Prime Minister of New Zealand. Norman Eric Kirk (6 January 1923 – 31 August 1974) was Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1972 until his sudden death in 1974. He was the fourth Labour Prime Minister of New Zealand, but the first to be born in New Zealand.

About the cache
The cache is smaller than a film container and as such it only contains a logsheet. To log your find you will need to bring your own writing stick.

About the location
Due to its proximity to the Upper Hutt Council and Public Library, as well as the Upper Hutt Train Station, pedestrians can appear without warning and from any direction, and as there may be people in cars parked nearby, or overlooking the cache site from the Council Building itself, patience and extreme stealth must be practiced when searching for and replacing the cache!

Please make sure that the cache is replaced as found (with suitable "cover") as we don't want this to go MIA *again*!

Logging your Find
There is a small log sheet for all Geocachers to record their discoveries. Please let me know when the logsheet is nearing maintenance time and I will supply a new sheet.
