Geocache Description:

Located on Bumblebee Island (not the correct name), in what is locally known as Bathing Beauty Bay (also not the correct name).

Micro camoed film container has been replaced by the Dan Akroyd double container, and still holds only a log. Available only by water in the summer to kayaks, canoes, and small aluminum power boats. Watch for rocks just below the surface, to the south. In winter, this could be a nice ski across the swamp from the winter trails on Coney. Bumblebee is also accessible also by snowmobile in winter, but DO NOT approach from the ice on Safety Bay by rounding the point with the old brown cottage on it close to the K7 buoy. BAD ICE! Since the early 1900s, Bumblebee island was used as an anchor for the log boom that used to be in the western part of the bay, but now is a popular place for eagles to devour their catch of fish. This island has also been the first solo destination for many young canoeists and kayakers who spent their summers on this bay. CONGRATS to canadianwildflower on FTF
