This is #4 in the Lookout Challenge series. Please be aware that these are extreme caches that require physical preparation as well maps and good navigating skills. Waypoints are only suggestions as there are many ways to access these caches. You have been warned! Also note that portions of this road system allow no motorized vehicles at certain times of year.
Meridian Mt lookout was built in 1942 to watch for fires in the ST Helens tree farm area. It was an 40 ft wooden tower with a 7 x7 cab/house on top. It was abandoned in 1963 after it was destroyed in the Columbus Day storm. Today only the footings remain at 1553 ft elevation. Benchmark collectors will find Meridian RM 2 nearby. Not much of a view today because of the tree cover

You may claim individual FTF’s for each cache, However, there is a Lookout Challenge series FTF prize for the first cacher to COMPLETE ALL FIVE CACHES. To claim your series FTF prize sign each log and record the letter in the lid of each cache and identify which cache lid has no letter at all.
