Welcome to the Long Leaf Trace. This is a Rails For Trails project
that converted an old railroad track from Hattiesburg, MS to
Prentiss MS. It is 41 miles long, and has several caches along this
route.
Trace Map
This cache was placed at the University of Southern Miss Portal
of the Long Leaf Trace. It is a lock-n-lock box with goodies for
the kids or those who wish to trade. This cache was placed with the
idea of connecting the caches along the Trace and making this a
series that will draw people from all over to such a wonderful
trail.
The trail is Equestrian friendly, and available to bicycles as
well as hikers. There are multiple "stations" which provide a place
to get water or drinks and a bathroom that is available to the
public. There are several camping places as well for those wishing
to hike part or all of the Trace.
