Geocache Description:

A 35mm film cannister, hidden along the route of the old Devon Valley Railway. You will need your own pen to log your visit.

The Devon Valley Railway was built in the 1860s. The route of the Devon Valley line went from Alloa to Kinross via Tillicoultry, Dollar, Rumbling Bridge, Crook of Devon and Balado.

Apparently Sauchie station lay just beyond the furthest bridge, which today carries the road. Between the two bridges the remaining abutments of a third bridge can be seen, which once took the Alloa Waggonway into Sauchie Colliery and the Devon Ironworks off to the right.

If you park near the caches at the Sauchie Tower (visit link) or the Old Pump House (visit link) , you can easily walk to the cache in about 15 mins. The route may be a little muddy in wet weather.

Congratulations to Scottiedogz for the FTF!
