Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center in Troy, Michigan. Parking is available at the entrance to the nature center but be prepared to walk to the caches. Donations to the Troy Nature Society help to keep us running. Donation boxes are located at the trailhead in front of the Nature Center and inside the Exhibit Hall. Why not pick up a trail map too?

The Lloyd A Stage Nature Center is administered by the Troy Nature Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides educational programs to understand the natural world and its stewardship. If you are interested in taking a class, volunteering at the Nature Center or in making a tax-deductible contribution please stop in and see us during your visit or visit our website.

The nature center rests on 100 acres of land and has approximately 2 miles of trails. *****All of the geocaches at the nature center can be found within 5 or so feet from the trails – there is no need for bushwhacking.***** Trails are well marked and vary between paved, boardwalk, and wood chipped.

This is a smaller cache that contains little trinkets, a pencil, and logbook.

Nature Center Exhibit Hall hours are as follows:

Tuesday – Friday: 9:00 -3:00
Saturday: 10:00-4:00
Sunday/Monday: Closed

Drinking fountains and restrooms are located inside the nature center. This is a family friendly facility that also contains a mastodon dig, live animals, taxidermy, a research library, a children’s play corner, an observation bee hive, classrooms and more. The entry courtyard offers climbing boulders, picnic tables and a bike rack. Wildlife is abundant, deer especially, and wild herbs abound.

This cache was not designed to be extremely tricky. In fact, since it was placed most of its camouflage has fallen away. Let your “geosense” guide you and remember, it’s not far off the trails. Happy hunting!
