Situé sur les hauteurs de Castelnau-Picampeau, ce moulin à vent qui date de la fin du XIXe siècle faisait partie des trois moulins en activité sur la commune. Il fonctionnait encore au début du XXe siècle.
Le bâtiment, toujours intact en 1939, a depuis perdu sa toiture et ses ailes.
Mais les propriétaires actuels, dont il avoisine la maison, ont déjà bien avancé la restauration de son toit.
Comme tous les moulins à vent, depuis son emplacement privilégié en haut de la colline, il vous offre une belle vue sur la vallée avec, au loin, la chaîne des Pyrénées.
Avec l'accord du propriétaire qui nous a accompagnées pour le choix de l'emplacement, nous avons éloigné "le trésor" le plus possible de la maison ! Il vous attend à une centaine de mètres.

10 Mars 2014 : Visite de maintenance et changement de boîte. Nous la laissons au même endroit, mais dissimulée différemment. Attention :
1/ pas de crayon dans la boîte.
2/ Elle est assez haute et risque d'être écrasée si vous changez son mode de cachette. Merci pour votre soin !

Located on the heights of Castelnau-Picampeau, this windmill dating from the late nineteenth century was one of three mills in operation in the town. It still worked in the early twentieth century.
The building, still intact in 1939, has since lost its roof and wings.
But the current owners, who live nearby, have already well advanced the restoration of its roof.
Like all windmills, from its location at the top of the hill, it offers a beautiful view over the valley with the Pyrenees in the distance.
With the approval of owner who came with us to choose the location, we placed the "treasure" as far as possible from the house! It awaits you a few hundred metres away.
