Geocache Description:

schöne Aussicht, nur eine Aufgabe: folge dem Sonnenstrahl / beautiful vista, one question only: follow the sun

Hier liegt zwar nicht der cache, aber man hat einen schönen Blick nach Süden. Von links nach rechts: Estergebirge, Wetterstein, Ettaler Mandel, Laber.

Das kleine Denkmal ist James Loeb und seiner Frau Maria Antonie Hambüchen gewidmet. Die Kinderklinik, die hier gleich nebenan liegt, befindet sich auf dem ehemaligen Anwesen der Loebs. James Loeb stiftete ein Krankenhaus für Murnau und eines in New York, half bei der Gründung des New York Institute of Musical Art, Vorläufer der Juilliard School of Music. In München stiftete er die „Deutsche Forschungsanstalt für Psychiatrie“, das heutige Max-Planck-Institut für Psychiatrie, die Staatliche Antikensammlungen, sowie das erste Münchner Studentinnenheim „Marie Antonie-Haus“. Er startete auch eine Serie von Übersetzungen klassischer Werke, die noch heute unter dem Titel "Loeb Classical Library" herausgegeben wird.
Nun zum Cache:
Der cache ist ca 40m vom Denkmal enfernt versteckt. Die Richtung vom Denkmal aus könnt ihr wie folgt bestimmen:
Auf der Nordseite des Denkmals ist eine Inschrift und jede Menge Jahreszahlen. Es kommen fast alle Ziffern zwischen 1 und 9 vor, nur eine einzige Ziffer fehlt.
Folgt einfach dem Sonnenstrahl, der in Richtung der Ziffer zeigt, die auf der Seite fehlt!

Funktioniert auch bei trübem Wetter - kein Zäuneklettern notwendig.

The small memorial is dedicated to James Loeb and his wife Maria Antonie Hambüchen. The children's hospital adjacent to this memorial is on the former premises of the Loebs. James Loeb founded hospitals in Murnau and in New York, he founded the Staatliche Antikensammlung in Munich, helped to start the New York Institute of Musical Art, which was the predecessor of the Juillard School of Music (Manhattan, near the Lincoln Center). In Munich he founded what is now the Max-Planck-Institute for Psychiatry, and the first dormitory for female students (Maria-Antonie House). He also startet a series of translations of classical philosophers. This series still exists today under the name of "Loeb Classical Library".

Now to the cache:
The cache is hidden at a distance of approximately 40m from the memorial stone.
On the North side of the memorial you will find a lot of numbers. You will find almost all digits between 1 and 9 at least once, except for one digit. Determine the missing digit.
Now follow the ray of the sun which points in the direction of this number.
This works even in bad weather - and do not climb fences!
