A Key Connection...Transcontinental Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mistikal68: Since we no longer live in Nebraska and don't have family living there to care for this cache, we have chosen to archive this cache.
Thank you everyone who has stopped by and hopefully another fellow local cacher will bring another one to this spot!

CONGRATULATIONS TO CACHENUT & CACHENUT II for FTF!!
I am glad GeoJunkie and I stopped to look at this. Geocaching for
me equals always learning...

Here are a few facts I have discovered while researching this
location:

The trail, which was eventually named Highway 30, extends east
to west across Nebraska and was a vital piece of the United States
of America growth and connection from coast to coast.

Hwy 30 was a integral part all of our ability to communicate and
travel between the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean.

The trail was vital to our first transcontinental telegraphs,
rail services and eventually automobile connections!!

Who Knew?

To learn more about this and the Mormon and Oregon Trails you
might want to hit the local library and check out this book where I
found the information:

Western Trails"
