Geocache Description:

Should be an easy find along the Golden Pipeline Discovery Trail.

Due to the temporary nature of pens and pencils in my geocaches
BRING YOUR OWN WRITING IMPLEMENT!!!

The cache is not at the given coordinates, but they should find you at a plaque near a historical well. Cross the railway Southbound on Station Road, turn second left into Dreyer Street, first right into McLaren Street. Proceed South from Tammin on McLaren Street which becomes Wood Road after about 230 metres. After 2.7 Km from Dreyer Street, at S31 39.928 E117 29.764, proceed STRAIGHT AHEAD (left from Hunt Road) OFF THE BITUMEN, for a further 400 metres, then turn right at the sign.

There is a large parking area and some picnic tables here, in addition to the well and the plaque you are looking for - it bears the title "York to Goldfields Heritage Trail - Tammin Well". This plaque mentions an explorer who used the well and later returned to supervise the stoning up of the well. Convert the two words of that name to a three digit number using the A = 1, B = 2, ... Z = 26 method to get A.

Waypoint 2 can be found at S31 39.(151 + A) E117 33.(98 + A). Here you will find yourself near a large piece of electronic infrastructure. Note to caravaners and those with big vehicles or towing something - stop just before WP2, it will soon become clear. There is a four digit Lot Number on the edge of the driveway. That number = B. C = (B + 7)/12.

The cache can be found nearby at S31 39.(C - 166) E117 33.(C - 303).

The cache is a drab camo'd 70mm Diam x 155mm High plastic screw-top container protected by an open ended Milo tin, hidden under some branches at the base of a small tree. Contents are log book, pen, 2 pencils, sharpener, Finders Cards, and a selection of swaps, including a small PINK pen as a swap. (The pen with the "Please Don't ...." tag is NOT a swap).

This cache is part of a series leading towards my GC29MXD WanAus 179 - Discover Western Australia cache. There is a number in the back of the log book. You will need to subtract two from this number, and record the result in the format 143? (from WanAus 143 and ? for the adjusted number) for future reference.

This is just a suggestion, but it may help you to keep track of the DWA numbers.
Every cache page has "*Personal Cache Note" *Click to enter a note, just above Geocache Description:
You could either add the code to each individual cache, or add all numbers to GC29MXD WanAus 179 - Discover Western Australia.

If you are heading out to hunt down some of my more remote GC1QYV5 WanAus 89 - Roaming Western Australia or GC29MXD WanAus 179 - Discover Western Australia caches, where the cache density is very low, why not consider taking a few prepared containers with you, stocked with log book and swaps etc, and when you spot one of those places that make you think "that would be a good place for a cache", place one of your own. Just check that there isn't a cache within 160 metres, and please don't place a micro in the bush where you could easily conceal an ammo box or Milo tin.

When trading items please consider trading up or trading even and leaving items that you would want to find, and please don't take the pen, pencils or sharpener. If you can't trade up or trade even I don't mind seeing TNLNSL in the log. Also please don't put the pen or pencils in the log book bag, it tends to destroy the watertight integrity.

Trackables (geocoins and travel bugs) are not tradeable items. Please feel free to take them without making a trade, but please leave a note in the logbook and your online log, and do log them online.
