Geocache Description:

The cache is not located at the posted coordinates.

This puzzle uses a familiar decoding device, but a little additional math will be needed. Once you figure out the “formula”, the letter sequence that follows can be converted to the digits of the full coordinates. Then you will need to place the spaces and decimal points correctly to get the numbers into the standard coord format.

DHBYTP, INXTG

But... this won't QUITE get you to the cache. When you have worked out the decoding process to get the coords, you should be able to come up with a chart you can use to reverse the mapping, and convert the following number sequence to words. This will provide instructions for an adjustment you will need to make from GZ to find the cache. In this case, though, some numbers can map to more than one letter, so you’ll have to do a little trial and error to find the right words.

4 18    18 12 6    6 12 4 8 8 27    9 6 6 8    9 6 28 8

16 12 3 6 21    15 6 2 12 12 12 4    8 21 16 12 10

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.
(NOTE: This is a check for the puzzle solution coords; NOT the adjusted final location.)

You are looking for a camoed lock-n-lock. Please try to also replace the natural camo, so it's not too exposed.

Original contents:

  • A lovely Jim&Jackie Geocoin I received as a gift, and am starting on it's adventures.
  • Miscellaneous items, including some Halloween-related things.
  • For FTF, I am feeling especially generous... So a gift certificate that should be enough for a gourmet meal, including your favorite beverage, at a world-famous local eatery!

PLEASE NOTE: It has been brought to my attention that some phones (probably the kind that you have to crank, and ask Ethel to ring up the General Store) have a different button configuration. Please be sure to use the letter/number combinations shown below for your decoding.

!NOTE! LOCATION CHANGE --
The original spot was a victim of urban deforestation. The lumberjacks were kind enough to leave the container nearby, though. Look under the bush at the nearest corner of the nearby building. Be careful of muggles; and VERY careful of traffic!

You might also want to try for my other new puzzle hide "Do I Hear A Symphony??"-(GC209BB), which is very nearby.

Congrats to ecrane for a pre-dawn FTF!
