Geocache Description:

We were going to call this cache "Spearmint Ridge" because of the lovely smells of mint at the cache site produced by the hundreds on spearmint plant up there, you can't help but walk on them and through them releasing their scent. Of course, you only get that effect a few months of the year. But, we were completely worn out placing this cache (ammo cans are heavy!) so we were shagged by the time we got to the top. For those of you wondering, shagged is an English term meaning exhausted! (among other things, but let's stick with exhausted)

Another fun jaunt up along the ridge at Mount Higby. This time taking you up past the "Natural Bridge" near "Humped" and along to a great location with about 270° of vista view.

Park at the end of Preston Ave and hike through the nature conservancy area, cross under the power lines to a cairn that marks the beginning of the trail up Preston Notch. From there it's a simple hike, following the blue trail up until N41 33.235 W72 44.381 where the blue trail heads East, down into the interior of the park. At this point you should continue heading North, there is a well traveled path for you to follow with Orange flags further along to help you on your way. This path skirts along the edge of water company property, you'll see a couple of no trespassing signs but they are to stop you heading inland to their property, stay on the trail and you'll be fine.

Hope you enjoy the hike, we enjoy this path for the views and the elevation changes!
