Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on a footpath near the Pilgrim's Way in Harrietsham.

Imagine a time when this route, The Pilgrim's Way was the main road through Harrietsham.

Harrietsham was originally called "Herriagerdeshamme" because of tranquil water meadows in the bottom of the valley. You can see from maps that water has always been an important part of the landscape. Even before the pilgrims, bronze age, saxon and roman people made there home around the Glebe field (the field in front of the church). This main village moved to stop the spread of the plague, leaving the field bare to this day, but holding rich historical remains.

The cache is placed just off the Pilgrim's Way, which runs across Southern England from Winchester to Canterbury.

When placed the cache contained back to school items such as handwriting pen, pritt stick, rubber and pocket calculator.

Coordinates may be slightly out due to tree cover.

To access the cache you will need to take a screwdriver. Please be extra careful that muggles don't catch you as you may be a couple of minutes whilst getting in the cache.
