Geocache Description:

This is a continuation of the Monarch Way series of caches. This stretch lies between Keynsham and Longwell Green. There is parking (and good pubs) at both ends of this stretch - the distance between is about 1 ¾ miles.

Because this follows the Monarch Way, it is not a circular walk but can be approached from either end of the indicated stretch. There are several other caches along this part of the route including Chocatastic and some of the Longwell Green Mega series.

Monarch Way is the 615 mile route used by King Charles II after the Battle of Worcester in 1651 when he was pursued by the Parliamentary forces under Oliver Cromwell. Charles first travelled north, where he hid in the famous oak tree at Boscobel. He then travelled south through the Cotswolds and the Mendips to the South Coast at Charmouth, and finally along the South Downs to Shoreham from where he made his escape to France.

This cache is suitable for wheel chairs and buggies from the Longwell Green parking.

You do not need to deviate from the marked Monarch Way for this cache. You are looking for a magnetic nano container – bring your own writing instrument!
