To start with, the pictures ARE of the final
cache. They are not meant to throw you off. The FTF prize is a
lensatic compass. And I have included a camoflaged matchstick
container with log and pencil for anyone who would like to place a
cache of their own, but just didn't have the time to throw one
together. All you have to do when you place it is to name it after
'Jasper Joe', (just kidding).
When you arrive at Stage 1, you just have to
find the directions to the final. Stage one is located at the
beginning of the access road off Norton Hollow at the top of Turkey
Ridge.
You will have to bushwack at first in order
to get to the final, but after about 200 yards, you should pick up
an old logging road and it is easy walking.
This is popular hunting land, so wear orange
during hunting season. You will see a few treestands on your way to
the cache if you take a similar route as I did and you make your
way through a couple of nice clearings.
The distance from stage 1 to the final is
0.47mi as the crow flies. The distance from the final to the access
road is only 0.16mi through mostly open woods. It can be a bit wet
in spots though.
PLEASE REPLACE THE CACHES AS YOU FOUND THEM,
OR BETTER SO THAT EVERYONE CAN HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE. ALSO TRY
TO COVER YOUR TRACKS SO THAT IT WILL BE A BIT HARDER FOR THOSE SF
GUYS :)
*** CONGRATULATIONS TO YURTLES ON THE FTF ***
