This is a friendly get to know geocachers and the Dalhem Center
gathering. It will be held at the picnic shelter behind the Center
building at 1pm prior to the 2pm Geocaching 101 Class. Just bring
your favorite munchies to share and enjoy the day. There will be a
101 class for those who wish to learn about geocaching and GPS’s
held at 2pm in the classrooms. Everyone may attend or hit the
trails to locate the 13 caches around the grounds.
The Dahlem Environmental Education Center is an outdoor
laboratory for school field trips, public programs and workshops.
Its trails and grounds are available to all who enjoy exploring the
natural world.
The Center is located on a 300 acre natural area. It is funded,
managed and operated by the Dahlem Conservancy, a non-profit
501(c)3 organization.
The Conservancy’s mission is to provide environmental education and
land conservancy services for the residents of south central
Michigan.
Open 9am to sunset. Gift shop opens Tue-Fri. 9-5, Sat. 10-5,
Sun. 12 to 5. Trails and parking are free. Headed to the Dahlem
Center this Saturday? You may want to run a PQ before you leave.
Should be new caches posted Friday night or early Saturday around
southern Jackson County. The “Dahlem Center Welcome” event is at
1pm and there is a 101 following that at 2pm.
