Geocache Description:

The cache is a 35mm film pot placed about 1ft above ground level. This cache may be accessible to wheelchair cachers.
UPDATE:
Not only has the cache gone, the sign behind which the cache was placed has also gone. :-(
I have therefore placed a cache on the opposite side of the road. I intend to update the co-ordinates soon. :-)

This WW2 air raid shelter has been converted to a pair of garages.

According to the book LEWES AT WAR 1939 -1945 (R.A.Elliston) this was undertaken in May 1947.

I remember seeing these garages back in approximately 1970, when I used to go to the YMCA to play table-tennis and build Airfix kits after school, but didn't realise their significance then.
