This is a fairly easy location to navigate...wheelchair friendly. (Watch out for muggles.) I hope the cache itself is the trick! Island Beach State park encompasses many miles of beach, many of these have life guards. People can swim, surf, fish, and kayak among other things in the park. You are required to pay a per vehicle entry fee when you enter Island Beach State Park
Island Beach State Park is a preserved barrier island on the east coast that protects a number of natural shoreline and nearshore habitats. The park is an excellent site for bird watching with osprey nests and bird blinds set up.
The Osprey, sometimes known as the sea hawk, is a fish-eating bird of prey. You will find it nesting in any location near a body of water providing an adequate food supply.
Alcatraz Island is a small island located in the middle of San Francisco Bay on the west coast. It served as a military prison followed by a federal prison until 1963.
Robert Franklin Stroud (January 28, 1890 – November 21, 1963), known as the "Birdman of Alcatraz", was a prisoner in Alcatraz who reared and sold birds. Despite his nickname, he actually kept birds only at Leavenworth, prior to being transferred to Alcatraz.
While I have found many caches, this is the first one I have hidden. I won it in a raffle at a geocache rally in Virginia!
