Geocache Description:

This is part of a series of caches. Each one is an individual cache, and together they lead to a final destination, with a prize for the first to find.

Dartmoor has long been inhabited by man, with widespread and well-preserved evidence of human habitation going back thousands of years. Many dwellings have fallen into ruin, the stone often being recycled into use for walling enclosures. In other areas, such as Grimspound, there has been less damage, and there is a clear floorplan of a substantial settlement.

This can be best appreciated from above, and the cache is hidden on the nearby Hookney Tor, with a good view of the settlement.

WARNING: THIS CACHE IS ON A HIGH PART OF THE MOOR, AND IS SUBJECT TO SOMETIMES SUDDEN AND EXTREME CHANGES IN WEATHER CONDITIONS. DO NOT GO UNPREPARED.

This cache is part of the Heart of Dartmoor Series. Inside the cache is a number which will help you to find the Heart of Dartmoor Bonus
