LavaLizard: We reviewers typically operate under the assumption that adequate permission exists to place a cache unless circumstances suggest otherwise. Under the circumstances, it does not appear that this cache has the permission of the current property owner and as a result, I am archiving the cache.

When placing a cache in any neighborhood, always be sure to obtain permission the property owner and from the neighbors. It is especially important to take the feelings of the residents into account where there has been a tragedy. The people who live here may not appreciate the additional traffic that a cache may draw.

Geocache Description:

This is some what of a memorial Cache... Last year an F-18 on a training mission had problems over the Pacific Ocean and was directed in to the mainland instead of landing back on the ship.. the pilot aimed for MCAS Miramar, as it was a straight flight in. The plane only had one working engine on the way in, and approx 1.2 Miles from the runway the last engine failed... As he was trying to aim the plane to ditch in the near by canyon he was to low by that time, staying as long as possible, he ejected. The planes wing clipped a tall tree, sending the plane crashing into a corner house... A young mother, kids and grandmother were home when the plane hit... unfortunately there were no survivors but the pilot whom did eject and land in a tree some distance away... This Cache is a Memorial to the Family that was lost... There is a Small cache here not to difficult to find, but please Stop across the street at the site and pay your respects... Thank you
