Der Hünenwall,
eine Satzendmoräne!
Lange Zeit dachten die Menschen, dass dieser Höhenrücken in der Bronzezeit von Hünen angelegt wurde. Inzwischen ist jedoch erwiesen, dass es sich um ein Werk der Natur, genauer gesagt um ein Werk des Eises handelt. Beim letzten Vorstoß der gewaltigen Inlandseismassen aus dem skandinavischen Raum, reichten die Gletscher bis zur heutigen Stadt Feldberg. Dieser Vorstoß vor ca. 15.000 Jahren wird auch pommersches Stadium der Weichseleiszeit genannt.
Findlinge und Gletscherschrammen - auch heute noch finden wir in Norddeutschland Spuren der Eiszeit. Wie war es dazu gekommen? Die Temperatur sank, das Meer fror zu, aus Schnee wurde Eis. Mächtige Gletscher aus dem norwegischen Raum kommen bis in unsere Regionen. Gletscherspalten, mitgeführtes Geröll und das aus den Gletschertoren schießende Schmelzwasser machen die Kraft des Eises sichtbar. (Grundmoräne, Endmoräne, Sander, Urstromtal)

Für die Log- Erlaubnis könnt (freiwillig) ihr vor Ort ein Foto von euch und dem Spoilerbild -Findling machen, in den Log hoch laden und folgende Fragen beantworten:
A: Die Granitblöcke des Hünenwall stammen von den .......... ?
B: Kesselmoore sind beim Abschmelzen vergrabener ............ entstanden?
C: Durch Schürfungen entstanden beim Transport des Findlings am Ende des Weges durch die Gletscher Rillen. Wie nennt man diese Rillen?
Die Antwort sendet Ihr an meinen GC-Account. Ihr braucht nicht auf meine Logerlaubnis zu warten.
Um alle Fragen richtig beantworten zu können, geht den Wanderweg bis zum zweiten Wegpunkt (N 53°19.316 / E 013°27.509). Am Ende wartet dann noch der Cache vom Teufelsstein als kleiner Bonus für euch!
The so-called "Hünenwall" ( in English: Giants Wall) is a terminal moraine.
Terminal moraines are one type of end moraines.
For a long time people were thinking that this ridge was built by giants during the Bronze Age.
Meanwhile it's proven that this ridge was made by nature, more precisly: by ice.
At the last advance of the giant masses of continental ice sheet from the glaciers were reaching a today's town called Feldberg.
This advance from about 15000 years ago is called Pomeranian Stage of Vistula Ice Age.
Boulders and scratches from glaciers - nowadays we can find many footsteps from the Ice Age in Northern Germany. But how could it amount to this?
The temperature was sinking, the sea froze and snow became ice.
Giant glaciers from Norway were reaching our region.
Crevasses, carried boulders and the melt water, which was shooting out of glacier snouts, shout the power of ice.

To get log-allowance you have to take a picture from you with the Spoiler-boulder. This picture you have to upload together with your log-entry. You also have to answer this three questions:
A: The granitic boulders on the "Hünenwall" came from....?
B: Caldera-moors (in German: Kesselmoore) are a result of deglaciation of buried....?
C: On the way through the glaciers the boulders get chamfers (or rills) because of abrasions. What's the scientific name of these chamfers?
