This is a NIGHT CACHE only. Each member of your team will need a FLASHLIGHT. The difficulty/terrrain rating is because of the dark trails. You will have to watch your step & look for markers.
We so enjoyed Floflowers "A walk in the park in the dark" that we wanted to challenge area cachers with another night cache.
The coordinates are for the starting point. Your mission, should you accept, is a search & rescue for an alien spaceship that has crash landed in Redding. As you reach the waypoint HOLD YOUR LIGHT SOURCE AT EYE LEVEL,face southeast and scan the trees for a reflective marker...follow the trail markers as they guide you down, around, and thru the trees. (While doing maintance on this cache we moved the starting point, making the hike a little shorter, and no longer a need to leave the paved or gravel trail system until the cache/crash site.)
WATCH YOUR STEP...during the day it is easy to avoid the sticks & stones, a full moon cannot be guaranteed. Give yourself plenty of time. The hike is appoximately 1/2 mile and appropriate for kids...just be carefull & respectfull of nature. This property is well maintained and open to hikers, bikers, & dogs on leash.
The cache itself is highlighted with several bright reflectors. The spaceship is loaded down with Alien swag, so have fun. Make sure the hatch is secure before concealing it's location for future rescue teams.
Remember, for best results it must be DARK and HOLD YOUR FLASHLIGHT AT EYE LEVEL to scan the trees for trail markers.
