I named this one for all the spring wildflowers on the hillside when I placed the cache, including my favorite Dutchman's Breeches. I forgot to take my camera with me, so I'd love for someone to post pictures of the flowers for me!
There are two main ways you can come at this cache. If you follow the grass lane around through the woods, it's a longer hike, but not too difficult. On the other hand, you might be able to cross the floodplain *IF* it's dry, but you still have to climb a steep hill--making the terrain rating more like a 3.5 or 4.
If you have the time, I recommend walking the rest of the way north down the grass lane. There are some great views of the river, as well as some wildlife areas.
Because this cache is on Illinois Department of Natural Resources land, please note the following:
1. Geocache is placed on Department managed property with permission.
2. Do not place the following items in the Geocache: food items; inappropriate, offensive, or hazardous materials.
3. It is the visitors' responsibility to orient themselves with policies and rules pertaining to this Department managed site.
