Haweswater Hike: a series of caches around Haweswater that can be done as a complete circuit of the lake or via shorter expeditions. This cache is where the pipeline path crosses Gurness Gill.
The small path continues up from The Wrong Trousers to a small col, then a short descent to the Gill. There is a bridge that crosses the stream and just below it the pipeline is visible. Certainly not on a par with the main aqueduct to Manchester. Lovely trees grow in the small gorge, but watch out for loose rock if you scramble about.
Description: Follow the small posts and the path to the bridge. The cache is on the north side. Climb along the bank above the line of trees, not in the gorge.
