Folkies: Dave Mallett Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cwgray: I'm sorry, but I have been asked to remove the container and archive this by the church. It is too close to a day care facility. Thanks to those who have found it already.

Geocache Description:

This cache is one of my "folkies" series, intended to honor a few of our folk music entertainers.

From "Garden Song", by Dave Mallett

Inch by inch, row by row, gonna make this garden grow
All it takes is a rake and a hoe and a piece of fertile ground
Inch by inch, row by row Someone bless these seeds I sow
Someone warm them from below
Til the rain comes tumbling down

Dave Mallett grew up in rural Maine, beginning his singing career in the 60s singing at fairs and festivals with his brother. He produced his first album in 1978, beginning a long career of songwriting and recording. Many of his songs reflect life in Maine. He’s best known for the “Garden Song”, recorded by many other artists including John Denver and the Muppets.

Dave has been a popular performer on the New England folk circuit for a number of years. After a brief residence in Nashville, he returned home to the family farm in Sebec, Maine.

The Cache:
I just had to put this one in the Malletts Bay area. There is not much open land for caching, but I found a location which should be OK. You may park behind the Malletts Bay Congregational Church. The cache is not on church property, but please be respectful at times when others are attending services.

FTF prize is an unactivated Vermont A.T. geocoin.
