Geocache Description:

Pretty typical roadside cache. Magnetic.

I placed this cache because you may get to witness a rare occurance in this area. Nearly due east from the cache, about 500' feet from the highway there are a pair of Bald Eagles nesting. They have been building the nest for 5-6 weeks now and looks to be complete. Upon talking to a DEC eagle expert I learned that this is a perfect spot for them to nest. Near the "river" and open spaces for hunting. If the eagles are not around the nest, I found that often you can go north on the road about 1/4 mile and get a view of them sitting in a tree watching over the water. I did witness the male catch a fish from this location a week ago. Bring binoculars.

Please follow these rules when viewing:

1- Park well out of traveled highway lanes.
2- Be careful when crossing the road.
2- DO NOT go into the field surrounding the nest.
