Artwork sign #3 is sited near the Uni North Towers.The Uni was established 1964 on the old parkland of Wivenhoe Park.
With kind permission of Local artist Michael Goody allowing us to incorporate his inspirational Viewfinder Trail we have placed a series of caches nearby his works on the trail. Michael was my sculpture tutor during the planning and creation of the artwork. The trail is actually a 17.5m cycle route starting in GB's Oldest recorded town of Colchester, but each of the 10 caches can be found individually by other means of transport. Michael was inspired by Lucien Passoro's landscape view across Hilly fields,also by the Colchester sky line fearuring The Town Hall & Jumbo Water tower. At each location Michael placed an artwork depicting the view, each piece giving the initial appearance of a road sign,but are in fact meticulously handmade paintings. The Trail is an artwork in itself.
