PRESENTED BY:
Not only is Joliet Junior College the nation's oldest public
community college, the main campus on Joliet's far west side
showcases some of the area's most diverse landscape unique to the
Northern Illinois area. The landscape here includes such features
as a Prairie Fen, Prairie Marsh, Calcareous Prairie, Oak Savanna in
addition to an active arboretum collection, and horticultural
display gardens! Our focus for this CITO will be on the areas to
the WEST and NORTH of Area #6 on the map above.

A couple of reminders for those planning to attend this
event:
1. When entering JJC from Houbolt Road, follow the entrance road
to the right toward the parking lot (and posted coordinates) for
the "J" building. The event will be taking place just to the west
of this parking area. There will also be a 5K race taking place in
the other parking lots, so please avoid those lots if possible.
2. There are 2 shifts for the CITO, 10-12 and/or 1-3. You can
come for one or both shifts if you would like. It is totally up to
you.
3. Lunch will be provided FREE of charge by the fine folks at
JJC. It will begin at 12:00 in the J building cafeteria, so if you
are coming to either shift, be sure to be there at NOON to eat.
4. If you have work gloves and sturdy boots, please plan on
bringing them to the event. The FPDWC will have some extra gloves
on hand, but plan to bring your own.
5. The work will be very similar to the work done at the
previous Will County CITO at Keepataw Preserve. We will be cutting
non-native/invasive brush and stacking them into piles for eventual
chipping.
6. There will be several raffles taking place during the lunch
hour. Winners MUST be present! So, be sure to be there for lunch at
noon so you don't miss out on some great prizes!
7. If you've not registered on this page yet as "Will Attend",
please do so ASAP, so that I can confirm the headcount for
lunch.
