It's there. Go get it. Please note the
WILD AND WOOLLY terrain (actually, it's not too bad). You need to
be fit enough to walk in excess of a couple of kilometres, endure
an elevation change of about 80 metres each way, an uneven ground
surface, and a couple of short steep inclines. Please wear boots or
sturdy walking shoes since you will be walking a route that is
essentially a WILD AND WOOLLY animal route, and be prepared for
possibly a couple of hours in the woods unless you hike briskly. I
strongly suggest that you do not attempt this at night nor in WILD
AND WOOLLY weather as the access to this cache is not along a
maintained path. Stage 1 has the coordinates and hint for Stage 2
which in turn is the cache container, a 1 litre green L&L
wrapped in a "WILD" plastic bag. They are meant to be easy finds
once on location. Hopefully you won't be stumped by them. The final
stage will be found about 25 metres off a distinct path. You can
either bushwack partly along WILD AND WOOLLY animal routes, or
locate a WILD deer trail that leads almost right to it.
Due to influences of the terrain and
tree cover, you may have WILD AND WOOLLY GPSr reception at both
stages, particularly the final. You will likely receive the best
satellite signals around mid day on sunny dry days. Both locations
are marked with a 5" bowtie of orange flagging tape tied to some
Salal very nearby.
Conveniently, I parked 1111.1 metres from stage 1. That's 5 1's,
the same number of years as the Hide-&-Go events have been
held. WILD! One of the solutions to the anagrammed cache name is a
gent's name which may give you a "sound alike" clue of where I
parked, near something with the number 7624.
The area is open from 7:00am to 9:00pm.
The cache contains a WOOLLY MAMMOTH and other WILD AND WOOLLY
ANIMAL themed dollar store trivia, logbook, pencil, and FTF, STF,
and TTF prizes which could brighten your day if lucky! All cachers
on site at the time of find get to share ONE prize. i.e. Please do
not take three of them if there are three of you in a caching group
nor two of them if there are two in your caching group, etc.
Beware the WILD AND WOOLLY carnivores that may frequent the area
at night...!
