A drive-up cache along Page Mill Road, located at the #LT01 gate marking an entrance into the lower Los Trancos Open Space Preserve (OSP). Cache is a small clear tupper-ware type container (with a black lid). Do not block the gate into the OSP when you park. This is a great jumping off place for hiking in either Los Trancos OSP or on down into Foothills Park. It's about two miles to the Foothills Park border from this gate.
Los Trancos OSP is open a half an hour before sunset until a half an hour after sunset. Foothills Park is open 8 a.m. to sunset only. Please only cache during park hours. Non residents of Palo Alto are allowed to hike into Foothills Park through Los Trancos OSP but are not allowed to walk in from Page Mill Rd. It is approximately 12 miles round trip to hike down and find all of the current caches (15+ total) on the way and in Foothills Park.
