Geocache Description:

What great navigators the early seafarers were! Pinpointing their location only by means of the sun, the stars and a compass. You think you've got it easy because you own a hi-tech device? Let's see how good you are with that...

Like the early mariners navigating around the Cape Of Good Hope, you need to find and use reference points. This Mystery-cache has only one given reference point, you will have to find three others. The cache is located at an equal distance of all four points: about 180 meters from each point. I have added pictures for each of the reference points you are looking for.

Point 1:
the given coordinates

Point 2:
From Molteno Road, turn into the Cul-de-sac of Glencoe Road, towards Lions Head. Follow the road to the end. At the end of the road, there is a yellow pole. Take a reading at this point and save it.

Point 3:
From the top of Molteno road, walk up the concrete jeep track. After a few meters, follow the track to the right and keep walking towards the cable station. You will arrive at a T-junction at S33º 56.766 E018º 24.298 There are two tracks going off to your right. Take the higher one and walk up this track. You will soon arrive at a bench with a great view over the city. Take a reading here and save it.

Point 4:
Walk back to the T-junction mentioned above and when facing the mountain, take the lower track to your right. Walk along this track. At a kink in the track, there are two dead pine trees on the left side of the path. Take a reading here and save it.

Now you have all 4 reference points. Find the spot that is about 180 meters from all four points. It is not necessary to bush-whack your way there!
