Plastic Costco nut jar in Denman Wildlife Area with off-street parking which requires a parking permit or a current hunting license.
If you come from the south parking area on Avenue G, you'll have great views of Mt. McLoughlin all the way to the cache. (You'll also avoid the parking fee in Tou Velle.) Avoid the steep swale by going left around it. This is a deer bedding area so approach with your eyes peeled for deer slipping out and down the swale. Watch for raptors hunting from favorite rests on the high spots, and don't be surprised if a long-eared jackrabbit bounds away as you approach. The brush will hide you from muggles and the cache is large enough for trade items and a traveler or two. Hide is simple enough you won't need a hint. Nearby caches outside the State Park include SAVANNAH, POND ARRAY. BAT BOX and WIDE OPEN SPACE.
