Powder House Hill is the home of Manchester's powder house which was used to store ammunition during the War of 1812. This hilltop site was long a landmark for mariners and provides magical views of the town of Manchester and Manchester harbor. The town created a reservation by adding more than 50 acres and laying out trails. In 2007, the powder house was restored and the surroundings improved to make this a place of recreation and beauty for visitors.
