Geocache Description:

Small container placed along the trackbed of the old MSWJR route. Ok for buggies and cycles. Paths are good and not too muddy.

This Cache takes you along the route of the old Midland & South West Junction Railway between a stretch of the Wilts & Berks Canal and Old Town Station in Swindon. If combined with GC1J99Y 'MSWJR - Wichelstowe View', this gives a nice walk of approx 2 miles Car door to Car door.

For a history of the MSWJR, then I would suggest looking at this website: www.swindonsotherrailway.co.uk/

From the suggested parking, you could also do RoobyDoo's 'Tiddley Dyke Crossing', which is close to the start point. This route is popular with cyclists and dog walkers, so some stealth may be required!
The route overlooks the controversial Wichelstowe developement, which is being built on the area known as 'Swindon's Front Garden'.

Suggested parking is a small pull in near Bevins Bridge at N51 32.848 W001 48.240. Once parked, walk alongside the canal to the start point at N51 32.997 W001 48.247 (which is on the bridge over the Canal)
