Denne imponerende bronze
skulpturgruppe ”Thors kamp mod Jætterne” blev billedhuggeren
Carl Johan Bonnesens livsværk, det tog 4 år at modellere gruppen og
det tog næsten lige så lang tid med støbningen,
Skulpturen blev bestilt af
finansmanden Harald Plum, stifter af det Transatlantiske Kompagni.
Plum havde købt øen Thorø ved Assens, hvor skulpturen blev
opstillet. Plum kom kort tid efter i økonomisk uføre og solgte øen
til den Københavnske Skolelærerforening, der i 1957 solgte
skulpturen videre til Haustrups Fabrikker som opstillede den her på
Thorslund. I dag ejes den af Glud og Marstrand

The sculpture was commissioned by the Financial Harald Plum,
founder of the Transatlantic Company. Plum had bought the island
Thorø at Assens, where the sculpture was established. Plum came
shortly after the economic muddle and sold the island to the
Copenhagen School Teachers' Association, which in 1957 sold the
sculpture to Haustrups factories as it established here on
Thorslund. Today it is owned by Glud and Marstrand
