Marsh View is
located along a well maintained public walking path on the dike
along the old Hamilton Field runways. The city of Novato was kind
enough to recently install a Geocache Hiding Place that also serves
to provide details about the work going on out in front of
you.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is restoring the runway area
back to a tidal salt marsh. They have built a series of dikes and
are now, slowly, raising the ground level with dredged material
from the bay. Here is more information about the
Hamilton Wetland Restoration Project -

Since this area is changing almost daily, it would be nice to
have a photographic history. If you have your camera with you, why
not add a photograph to your log entry of the marsh view. Take a
shot of straight ahead, while standing in front of the middle
plaque. Try to match the angle of my photo shown on this
page. |
