WHEN: Saturday, November 8th, 2008
WHERE: Pecos Park - Phoenix, Arizona
TIME: 11:00 to 11:15 AM MST
Everyone is welcomed to attend this event. This
will be part of the WWFM IV (World Wide Flash Mob) coordinated
events that will be happening simultaneously around the world. A
flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a
public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, then
quickly disperse. A great time to mingle, chat, swap/trade/show
TB’s & geocoins, and all the other things cachers do. If
questioned by a muggle, explain to him/her what "Geocaching" is all
about.
Event
Schedule:
10:45 to 10:59 AM - Stay in your cars or
wander around the park, but stay away from ground
zero.
11:00 AM - (As determined by the GPS clock) An orange bucket will
be placed on the ground at the designated coordinates to signify
the start of the official event. You may then converge and register
by dropping your log sheet into the white bucket. Log sheets will
be provided. Bring your own pen. (BYOP)
A bucket of SWAG will be provided for your trading pleasure. You
may trade items during the whole event.
11:05 AM - Event Meal (candy kisses & such) will be
served.
11:08 AM - Drawing for FTF and prize will be held.
11:10 AM - Group Photo will be taken. Assemble quickly.
11:14 AM - One minute warning is called! "It is now 11:14". Clean
up and prepare to leave.
11:15 AM – IT'S OVER!! The buckets will be picked up and everyone
must leave “ground zero”. If you missed placing your log sheet in
the bucket, you missed the event, and will not be allowed to log
this event.
Directions:
The only entry to Pecos Park is form 48th Street.
From I-10: Exit at Chandler Blvd. and go West to 48th Street. Go
South on 48th Street to the park.
From the 202: Exit at Kyrene. Go North to Chandler Blvd. Go West on
Chandler Blvd. to 48th Street and turn South to Pecos Park.
Note: Although participants are welcome to get together after the
event, the event will officially be over at 11:15.
If everything goes right we will have a lot of people converging on
one spot for a 15 minute geocaching event and then disappearing.
This could be lots of fun and maybe even raise a few muggle
eyebrows. So come on out and enjoy the WWFM IV event!
