Geocache Description:

Monkeyaid:
During the period of July 1999 to August 2008, Danny and Mike lived in (and thoroughly explored) Norwich and surrounding area – and in this time a number of interesting, beautiful or tranquil places were discovered.. often now being recalled for associations with specific events in their lives.

The Monkeyaid set of caches has been created as a little memento of those times – as both Danny and Mike now live elsewhere in the country (although still visiting Norwich regularly).

The Monkeyaid set of caches are mostly small (room for a couple of small items) but includes one larger cache “Monkeyaid: The Scrapyard” – the precise coordinates of which can be obtained by piecing together the clues contained within some of the smaller caches.

Who knows... there's may be a clue here...

The Ford:
The Ford is a nice, tranquil spot where a river/stream/whatever crosses a quiet country road. There's a sluice/lock-type mechanism with a little water-fall effort (vague descriptive skills in evidence here but you'll see..) and then a large, deep pool that as well as being fed from another, smaller stream then runs off in two small streams - one of which crosses the road. A large tree stands proudly to one side of the pool, dominating the area, and providing purchase for a VERY precarious rope swing evidently used by the local kids. I would NOT recommend attempting it -seriously.. don't!
At certain times of the year, the flow of water here can result in swell... looking at the depth indicator, you'd think it a bit excessive but I've seen it at 4.5 feet deep and locals tell of occasions that the indicator wasn't even visible in the 90's. If it's anything less than 1 foot deep then you're perfectly safe to cross in your car, and about four inches is about the limit on foot - not due to depth but the force of the water and slippiness! 4x4's often don't even bother with the road - not sure why but then that's you're personal choice if you're that way inclined! Anyway... the cache here is a token of this location's place in Danny and Mike's years of random adventures around Norwich.
Be wary of muggles slowing to cross the ford...

The Cache:
Due to the varying level of the water here (see image of depth indicator), a bespoke hiding place needed to be constructed... you'll see when you find it - please access cache from above, rather than from the side - it took some time to create somewhere that wasn't visible to a casual glance! And please try to leave it so it can't be easily seen..

Contents on placing:
- Log book and pen (please leave)
- Large punch-ball balloon
- Donkey playing cards
- Toy
- TB "Mulligan" ( TB7D5B)
- Possibly... a clue for The Scrapyard cache

Caveat:
Now then - just in case you get "drift" with your GPSr I'll state this:
- it's not on the road
- it's not in the water
- it's not within a field
