Geocache Description:

I have placed a cache at each of the beautifully maintained parks in Marshfield. Get to know "The City in the Center"!

In 2001, the City of Marshfield received a $63,500 Urban Rivers grant from the Dept. of Natural Resources to assist in the purchase of approximately 38 acres of land bordering the east branch of the Yellow River from the Marshfield Country Club Also in 2001, Joe and Bernadine Weber took an interest in the projected and donated $100,000 to the City of Marshfield to assist with the purchase of the land and the initial phase one development.

In 2002, the City of Marshfield purchased the property and received a second grant from the Dept. of Natural resources in the amount of $80,000 to assist with the phase one development project. In November of 2004, the City of Marshfield received a wetland development permit from both the Dept. of Natural Resources and the Army Corp of Engineers that cleared the way for the phase one development project.
City of Marshfield parks are open year-round
