Geocache Description:

A great view of Saint's Rest Marsh Original cache credit goes too Scouter Bill, KJ and Students! Thank you for allowing me to adopt this cache to get it up and running for the cachers to enjoy!

In the Children's Forest portion of Irving Nature Park. Drive down Sand Cove Road. You can park at Sheldon's Point Barn and walk down the road or park at the small parking lot on the side of the road. You can see the hedge mazes from there. There is a road down into the park.

UPDATE:: Vehicles are now allowed on the road that goes too the "Children's Forest"; So you can now consider this cache a P&G. There is a parking area not far from Ground Zero.

The origianl cache was created and placed by the students of Saint John High School. Students did research on local watersheds and pamphlets were prepared describing them. It is part of an ongoing project, "Geocache Your Watershed", being conducted by schools across Canada with the cooperation and assistance of Environment Canada. Through this initiative, High School Students will learn about their watershed and experience their own outdoor discovery of its unique features.

Saints Rest Marsh is a major salt marsh (approx 250 acres) and shorebird habitat on the Bay of Fundy. The vegetation is typical of salt marshes with many tussocks of salt-water Cord-grass, Spartina alterniflora.

After you discover this cache, we would like to know what you think of the materials you find inside. Did you find the information interesting and informative? How can we improve your caching experience? Please put your comments in the “Cache Logs”.

UPDATE:: Though the original cache had been done by the Students of SJHS; the replacement was placed by Gr4v1ty and AllieLovesYou and only contains a log book for the time being. I plan to get in contact with the original cache owners and see if I can get some more of duplicate items for the cache. While you are in the area, feel free to explore the salt marsh and you can still leave a detailed log!

The Replacement cache is now a tobacco can!
