In 1988, the then Ballan Shire placed 16 brass plaques around the Shire for the Australian Bicentennial. Most commemorate the original settlers of each area. I hope to set up a cache starting at each plaque if I can find them all. This is the second of the series. I hope you find the history of the area interesting.
To find the cache you need some information from the Bicentennial Plaque.
How many acres did Robert own? ABCD
How many acres did John own? EDFFF
Cache is a short walk away at S 37° 35.(B-D+A)(D+C)(D-E) E 144°13.(B-C)AC
Please be careful near the small bridge, and be aware of the blackberries. They have been sprayed and appear dead but the trailers are still there and tripping is easy if you are not watching where you are walking. Since the rain there are ducks back on the creek and you can hear all the frogs. There is a $1 scratchie for FTF. Let us know if you win big! - won by Deano...no prize :(
7/7/2011 Final Cache has been moved to a safer and much higher location. The flooding washed away the cache and the original area is still very boggy with lots of new billabongs! If you look down to the right you will see the original area. Go for a short walk...it is an amazing view! Of course you still need to be very aware of muggles and please hide the cache as best you can when you leave.!
25/9/2012 Final GZ has been moved again as previous hide has been "deforested". This can be a high muggle area so please be careful! Also watch out for flying white things!
4/4/2013 Final GZ has been moved yet again. Please be really careful that muggles are not watching you! Cache is now a micro!
12/5/2013 Co-ordinates to final GZ have been corrected. Happy caching and good luck!
