The Cominco Gardens in Kimberley B.C. is one of the gems in the crown of the East Kootenay region of southern British Columbia.Started by Cominco in 1927 as a natural showcase for their Elephant brand fertilizer a byproduct of ore production from the now closed Sullivan mine.
In 1987 Cominco donated the gardens to the city and to this day they remain a visual legacy attracting visitors from around the world to marvel at the kaleidoscope of flower displays surrounded by a canopy of mature trees.
The gardens are best known for their dahlias,memorial roses and perennial beds dedicated to former gardeners but they are also available for weddings.The area where this cache is located is the most popular for hosting the nuptials and other events.
