Geocache Description:

Another cache in the Moccasin Lake Nature Park series of caches that highlight this Environmental and Energy Education Center in the City of Clearwater. Please see UPDATED park days, hours, and admission info below.

This GX will start you off at the fire pit, site of many an evening nature presentation, didgeridoo concert, marshmallow roast, and S'mores assembly line. MoLanNaPa is occasionally open in the evenings, which is really quite the treat. Check out their program brochure for the latest offerings.

We found out this used to be a citrus grove. As you wander around the park, the oranges you may find are deadly , but the tangerines are delightfully delicious -- help yourself! In fact, once we came upon some GeoMuggles filling a bag with them... aNOTHER reason to carry a CITO bag at all times.

MoLaNaPa is the GXers term for Moccasin Lake Nature Park. Located within the City of Clearwater, MoLaNaPa is a 51 acre nature preserve offers the visitor a chance to experience the way native Florida used to be, as well as learn about environmental and energy conservation. Contained within this City Park is a five acre lake, nature trails, animal, plant, and energy exhibits, an interpretive center, classrooms (indoors and out!) and a multi-purpose pavilion.

Burgi Dad and I hope these GXes and all visiting GXers show respect for the educational and environmental goals of MoLaNaPa. Each cache is easily accessible from the designated trails and boardwalks unless otherwise disclosed. If off-trail or off-boardwalk is mentioned, it will only be for the final retrieval, not any extensive portion of the journey to GZ. Absolutely NO bushwhacking, please and thank you!
