Stress Management Cache

Many people don’t realize that driving for long hours or dealing with heavy traffic can cause stress. Not only that, they don’t realize the effect that stress can have on the human body.

Stress is a physical emotion. Feelings of stress are a symptom that the body is having difficulty dealing with the events that happen in our busy daily lives. Symptoms of stress can include anger and irritability (Road Rage), high blood pressure, headache, muscle tension, tiredness, stomachache, and on and on and on to infinity.

When you notice that you are feeling stressed, it’s important to find ways to release the energy that your body is producing. It’s time to stop and consider what is going on and how you can take control. Losing your temper, yelling at other drivers or the kids in the back seat really doesn’t help.

There are many ways to reduce stress in your life and each person needs to find what works for them. A good place to start is by paying attention to your breathing. Take several deep slow breaths. Make sure that you can feel your abdomen rise as you do this. As you let the air out, think about releasing the stressful feelings. Another way to combat stress is to exercise. Take a walk. Walking is one of the best ways to release energy, refresh your mind, and gain a bit of inner peace.

Put the radio or cd player on soft music. The gentler the music the more you will relax. While rock or rap may keep you awake they won’t help you calm down but will make the feelings of stress worse.

One of the most important things you can do is to control your attitude. Have you ever heard the saying that “Attitudes are contagious, is yours worth catching?” I don’t know who first wrote or said that but it is very true. If you take charge of your attitude it is very possible to maintain a positive one. If you keep it going it will affect everyone around you in a positive way.

The beginning contents of this cache are all directed toward stress relief or management.
